Overview and FAQs

RECREATIONAL USERS vs. event attendees

RECREATIONAL USERS - (anyone NOT attending a show, camp, or clinic listed on our calendar or Event Registration page)*

All our fees are "ala carte". Unlike at some other facilities, the Park’s arena/trail fee is in addition to renting an RV space and/or a stall.

NO RECREATIONAL USE IS ALLOWED DURING MAXIMUM CAPACITY EVENTS. Please check the Park calendar before making your reservation.

Membership Discounts: Regular Members and Season Pass holders receive reduced rates for recreational use while also supporting the Park.

EVENT ATTENDEES - (anyone at the Park in connection with an organized event such as a show, camp, or clinic.)*

Please visit our Event Registration page to view a calendar and for more information on how to register for a specific event.

Event fees may vary from the Park’s published recreational rates, and membership discounts DO NOT APPLY during organized events.

*Everyone entering the Park to handle a horse must sign a liability release online by clicking here or at the Park before unloading. A parent or legal guardian must sign for youth under 18 years of age.

Making Your Reservations

Please go to our online store to set up an account and book your visit. If you have not yet signed the online waiver, you will also need to do that. (Please click here for detailed instructions.) If you already have an account, just log in. If you experience any issues with this process, please email registration@wahorsepark.org and one of us will help you out.

Please make your entire reservation on one order, if possible. Multiple orders make your reservation confusing on our end, so if you do need to make more than one order, please clarify in the comment box, or email us at registration@wahorsepark.org.

If you are attending an event, please follow the instructions on our Event Registration page. (Registration procedures vary; some are partly or fully through the Park, some are through the event organizer.) Please note that different fees may apply for organized events. You must register at the applicable event rate, even if you are a member or season passholder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a member to use the Horse Park?
No, though membership might save you money. The Park is open to all, and our regular recreational usage fees are for non-members. Regular members and season passholders get 20% off the recreational rates; season passholders also get free day use of the park.

Do I need to pay for Day Use of arenas/trails?
Yes. Everyone riding recreationally in the park must either have a day use pass, or have purchased cross country schooling for that day. If you have a Season Pass, your day use is free, so long as you display your Season Pass clearly on your rearview mirror. If you are not riding at the Park, you do not need day use, but must let us know you are not riding.
For events, a separate day use fee is usually not required, though haul-in or other fees may be required in lieu of day use; please refer to the registration information for your particular event.

Do I have to have a horse to camp at the Park?
No, though those with horses have priority for RV and dry camping. Non-horse riding visitors accompanying people riding at the Park are welcome to stay, and we handle requests from people wishing to camp without a horse on a space-available, case-by-case basis. Please email us at registration@wahorsepark.org if you would like to camp without a horse.

What if I need to change or cancel my reservation?
All cancellations must be made in writing to registration@wahorsepark.org.
Cancellations received in writing by midnight 3 days prior to your scheduled arrival day will incur an 8% processing fee. (For example, if you cancel on Tuesday before midnight for a reservation starting Friday, you will incur an 8% processing fee deducted from your refund.)
Cancellations made less than 3 days but before midnight on the day before your scheduled arrival will incur a 20% processing fee. (For example, if you cancel on Wednesday or on Thursday before midnight for a reservation starting Friday, you will incur a 20% processing fee deducted from your refund.)
No refunds will be issued if cancelling the day you are scheduled to arrive.*
If you would like to increase the facilities needed during your stay, simply enter a new online reservation and note that it's related to your existing reservation #___.
If you want to reschedule your existing reservation to a later date, and you contact us at registration@wahorsepark.org at least 3 days prior to your originally scheduled arrival, the date change will not incur a processing fee. Fees for any other reservation modifications will be handled on a case-by-case basis.*
*Different policies may apply to organized events such as shows, camps and clinics; please refer to the registration information for these events. The Park reserves the right to modify fees for handling cancellations and changes involving extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

I am coming for an event, can I make my own reservations for the regular items in the online store?
Probably not. Each event handles registration differently, but in 2022, most will either be through the organizers, or through a dedicated event set up in our online store. Please check our Event Registration page for details.

What kind of show facilities do you have?
We have facilities to hold nearly every type of horse event! We do not have a race track, or a polo field, but we have four large outdoor arenas, a large covered arena, cattle facilities, many trails, trail obstacles, and cross country courses from Starter through Intermediate.

Does the Park have horses I can ride?
The Park does not have horses available for rental, but there are private outfitters in the area who do. We recommend you check with 3 Peaks Outfitters or Flying Horseshoe Ranch.

How is the Park used in the winter?
Historically, the Park has been closed November through March. Cle Elum is usually covered in snow during the winter months and the Park only had outdoor arenas. We completed our covered arena in 2021; we decided to close on our traditional schedule for 2021, but our event season may be extended in future years.

Do you allow horse boarding?
Currently, the Horse Park does not allow boarding. During maximum capacity events, we need all available facility space.

I know I am a member, but I forgot my Member Number. Where can I find it?
Your member number is the four-digit order number from your purchase of either a regular membership or a season pass. You can find this on your receipt for your online purchase, or by logging into your online account. If you are a season passholder, your number will also be on the front of your pass.
If you purchased your membership using the printed form, we created an account for you in our online store using the email address you provided, and then created a paid order for your membership/pass. Please click here to use the "forgot your password" feature to set a password and view your purchase. If you did not provide an email, or cannot gain access to your account, please contact us at registration@wahorsepark.org.

I purchased a season pass; where is it?
It may take up to three weeks for you to receive your pass. If you have not received it by then, we are likely missing signed waivers. We will not issue your pass until we have a valid waiver for each person listed. Please contact us at registration@wahorsepark.org if you have questions about your pass.

I purchased a season pass or membership, but am having problems with the discount in your online store, why?
You can view the code in the "discount code" tab in our store, if it does not populate automatically. There could also be an error in the online store. Please email us at registration@wahorsepark.org letting us know exactly what is happening, and including screen shots if possible. (Please note you will likely also be unable to use your discount if your membership/pass is invalid for any reason, for instance, if you are missing a signed waiver.)

Can I book a specific camping or RV space?
Our online system will not currently allow you to do this, but if you want a specific RV space, please feel free to list that in the comments section of your order, and we will keep it in mind when assigning RV spaces. As for dry camping, we currently have a dry camping area in the woods, rather than specific dry camping spaces set up, so your tent space is first-come, first-served.

Can I have a camp fire or barbeque?
Only non-cinder-producing fires/BBQs are allowed in the Park, regardless of the actual fire danger or fire restrictions. You may not burn any cinder-producing materials for any purpose, or at any time; no wood, charcoal, etc. Your propane fire pit or barbeque is okay, provided it is on dirt or gravel and at least eight feet from any vegetation. (Please be aware that the fire danger in Cle Elum may be extreme at certain times of year; we urge you to be exceedingly careful in keeping all potential sources of ignition far away from all vegetation.)

I am planning to compete in an event the Park is hosting; why will your online store not allow me to make a reservation?
It is likely either because the event is a maximum capacity event and is responsible for all its own facility reservations (so we have blocked all reservations through our store), or because we are taking the facility reservations through the Park, but have created an event registration for it instead. Please refer to our Event Registration page for details on the specific event. If you still have questions, please feel free to email us at registration@wahorsepark.org
